Fanzhe Zeng is a researcher at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft. He finished his master in Integrated product design at TU Delft. During his master's degree, he has been interested in working with living microorganisms, exploring their unique materiality and recognizing their agency as living beings.

For his master's thesis, conducted with the Material Experience Lab under the NextSkins project, Fanzhe focused on designing living interfaces for a living material in the context of eczema, following approaches including material driven design and living artifact.

Currently, Fanzhe is involved in multiple projects related to living materials, where he supports researchers with prototyping, digital simulation, and visualization. He is also developing his own research on techniques for the fabrication and processing of bacterial cellulose.
